What began as a local custom processing business evolved into a nationwide mail-order service, driven by customer demand for our high-quality cured and barbecued meats. 1845 Meat Company, based in New Braunfels, Texas, traces its roots back to 1845 when the Dietert and Tays families immigrated from Germany to the Republic of Texas. Over six generations, they have preserved and evolved the art of smoking meats and making sausages, adapting traditional recipes with Texas influences like added heat from local spices. 1845 Meat Company continues this legacy with the highest quality smoked meats and sausages, designed for families and communities alike. This merger allows us to continue the Ranch House legacy while enhancing it through several key advantages:
